Technology Overview Devices Programs/Accounts Maintained We are a technology rich district, with many resources available for classroom use. Devices Programs/Accounts Maintained Teacher Laptops (Over 100 devices) Student and Teacher Ipads Promethean Boards – (in every classroom in the district) Printers (Over 60 in District) Interactive Flat Panels (25 in District) Google Chromebooks (580 student devices) Security Cameras (Over 50 in the district) Additional technology – scanners, fax machines, Point of Sale terminals Istation (elementary only) Reading Eggs (B. Benavides) Learning.com Discovery Education/United Streaming Google accounts – Grades 3 and up; others have class account Microsoft accounts TEKS Resource System DMAC – New accounts and information uploaded Week 1. Learning Ally – special education EduHero District Website and Social Media TTIPS grant alone added over 470 technology items to the elementary campus.

Technology Lending Grant July 2018 Technology Lending Grant Premont Early College Academy

Purpose of Program Texas Education Code, §32.301 The program awards grants to LEAs to implement a technology lending program to loan students the equipment necessary to access and use digital instructional materials. With the Technology Lending Grant, LEAs can continue using digital instructional materials while ensuring equitable access for students through loaned equipment for learning off campus.

What can be purchased? “Equipment” means personal, portable wireless devices such as laptops, tablets, or other technological devices that provide access to those digital materials required to meet the objectives of the district’s or charter school’s technology plan.

How will PISD implement the program? “Every Kid Connected” Expansion of the 1:1 Initiative Provide Home Internet Access Purchase additional devices for the elementary campus. Minimum of 60 New Chromebooks for Grades 1-5 4th and 5th Grade devices may be taken home. *Ipads for Grades PK3-K *subject to TEA negotiatio The district will purchase 39 MiFi devices for check out. This will allow students on a fixed income or in a rural setting to have access to the internet. Families will check these devices out for use. Contract for checkout will be signed by parents. Devices can be easily disabled if lost or stolen.
