CONNECTIONS MENTOR PROGRAM Partnership with the Wake County Bar Association and the Tenth Judicial District Pilot program began Spring 2014 Full release of program began Fall 2014 Received E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award in 2016

CONNECTIONS MENTOR PROGRAM Objectives: To foster a more complete understanding of the ethical and professional standards of the legal profession To clarify those standards by providing real world learning experiences and ethical discussions with highly respected members of the local bar, and To prepare protégés for the transition from the classroom to the profession by demonstrating how to use the practical skills learned in law school.

CONNECTIONS MENTOR PROGRAM Program basics: Protégés attend Orientation; mentors attend 3 hr. orientation CLE; end of year reception; & program evaluation Detailed guidebook provided with suggested activities A minimum of 5 activities per mentor/protégé pairing in any of the following areas: Business Practice, Policies & Resources; Experiential Learning; Networking ; or Professionalism/Ethics Protégés prepare a reflection memorandum for each activity
