Figure 1 The Yeast Cell Wall (Zymosan) Can Interact with the PRRs Dectin-1 and TLR2 Receptor triggering has diverse effects, ranging from IL-2 and IL-10 production in the case of Dectin-1 triggering alone to IL-12 and TNF-α production in the case of TLR2 activation. The latter is augmented by cooperative signaling of Dectin-1 with TLR2. One of the future challenges is to determine the mechanisms regulating the interplay between different receptors after pathogen binding.
