Praying with a view towards: God Reverence – verse 9 (Acts 4:24; 17:24) “Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” A solemn address to our God as “our Father” … Romans 8:14-17; 1 Peter 1:17 Whose dwelling place is “in heaven.” 1 Kings 8:30; 2 Chronicles 30:27 “Hallowed be Your name” – the name of Jehovah God is to be holy and spoken reverently. Psalms 99:1-3 Children of God – 2 Cor. 6:18; 1 John 3:1-2 – Jeremiah 3:18-19 “Our Father in heaven” – God’s people were recognized in the OT as servants, under the law of Christ as children.
