Results of Summer Feeding Program for School Year 2012-2013

The First Annual Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Huntsville City Board of Education ended on July 26 after serving 98,465 meals to children. According to Danielle Turk from the ALSDE, Huntsville City doubled the participation of the next closest school district. The Huntsville City Summer Feeding Program not only benefited our students, but it also benefited numerous community organizations, churches, and daycares. One of those organizations was Girls Inc.

One of the churches that participated daily was the Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church, which ate at Johnson High daily throughout the summer. Here is Pastor Montgomery with Johnson High CNP Manager Connie Sullivan.

Another church that participated on a regular basis was Fellowship of Faith. Here they are having lunch at Lakewood.

Recent Upgrades on Equipment in 11 of our Schools

Here are some pictures of equipment before and after the much needed upgrades. Sometimes seeing is believing! This is a picture of how most of our convection ovens appear in the 11 schools receiving updates.
