Relationships & Connections Ccsd talent development 3rd Grade Word Analogies

What is an analogy? An analogy draws parallels between objects or ideas. Analogies can be about simple or complex concepts. You will use critical thinking skills and evaluate the relationships between objects and words by using reasoning. Reasoning by analogy requires finding ways in which two things are similar and using these similarities to create a second pair of objects or ideas that are like each other in the same way.

What is an Analogy? An analogy draws parallels between objects or ideas. Analogies can be about simple or complex concepts.

Types of analogies There are many types of analogies, Explore this video to learn more!.

solving analogies When trying to solve a picture analogy, use these strategies: Describe, in words, ideas about how the first item relates to the second item. Test the idea by applying it to the third item to generate a possible answer. Look for a different rule if more than one answer choice fits the relationship Lets try some!
