Roads Options Discussion by Executive on the following: Option #1 - Do Minimum Option #2 - Gravel with Dust Suppressant Option #3 - Chip Seal Option #4 – Paving/Asphalt Option #5 - Blocks/Vegetation The following options where discussed at our last executive meeting. 11/30/2018

Option #1 - Do Minimum Do Minimum to the roads – except general maintenance Leave them as they are Gravel – fill potholes Dust suppressant Pros: Little cost to maintain $1.5k per year Roads budget maintained through current dues Ambiance – Country style road Cons: Upkeep each year Water problem not addressed 11/30/2018

Option #2 – Gravel and crowing of road with Dust suppressant Gravel base crowning of road, and binding with Dust Suppressant Pros: Maintains the country style road ambiance Water will be addressed Long time lasting at least 5 years Cons: Cost approx $27k Crowning, ripping and hauling of chip seal and preparing the roads properly Dust Suppressant applied with the proper solution will last 8 - 12 months. Cost approx $800 per season 11/30/2018

Option #3 – Chip seal Chip seal Cannot seem to find a company to apply this product Last chip sealed - time of upper roads deeded to the county. Engineer – Whatcom County Roads relinquished to the county Whatcom County – Ron and I visited the Whatcom County engineers to check into the possibility of chip seal. Whatcom County would take our roads into their maintenance program, if the roads were brought up to standard – 26’ wide, 20’ and 3’ each side of the road. They would then chip seal the roads for us, but they would be brought into the county. 100% agreement would have to be made by each home owner, and then the request would go before their board, and when approved an engineer would be sent from Whatcom county to advise us on what had to be completed before they would take them into the county program. This may put up the taxes in the area? 11/30/2018

Option #4 - Paving Paving Pros: Cons: Long lasting Roads will have proper base and run off for water Cons: Speed will be a factor Ambiance of the country style road gone. High Cost - $35k CDN 11/30/2018

Option #5 – Blocks/Vegetation Pros: Great ambiance Cons: Very costly - $36k – 57k. CDN Upkeep of vegetation overgrowth Road will not stay level Hard to walk on Cement blocks, grass, and gravel. On material, called Goipia comes from the U.K and is in the tile form at a cost of $19.62M2 prices, translates to $34,000 plus taxes and duties for our needs. Another product comes in a roll from the US and translates to $57,000. 11/30/2018
