From the Referee Administrator 08/19/14 From the Referee Administrator Rule Change: For all players in U-12 and younger age divisions, there shall be no deliberate heading of the ball in games or in practice. The restart shall be an Indirect Free Kick (IFK). There shall be NO teaching / coaching of heading during practice, nor shall deliberate heading be allowed during practice play. For all players above the U-12 age division, there are no restrictions on heading the ball during games. However, heading in practice is limited to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per week with no more than 15 headers per player per week. Instructor Notes Set the tone – “What do you expect to get out of this session?” Drive the answers to fit in with the Workshop Objectives. Briefly share the objectives for this session. 5

2016 Area 8c Fallfest Soccer Tournament When: October 8 – 9, 2016 (Saturday/Sunday) Who: U10-U19 Boys/Girls Where: Macomb County – TBD Registration Deadline: September 26th (estimated, might change) Coach Must be Certified: Safe Haven, CDC Concussion and Division Coach. Each Team is Guaranteed 3 games. Cost is based on division. Only your house team, which makes this a very fun/competitive tournament. Application and Tournament Rules is located at the AYSO Section 8 Blue Sombrero Website (not there at this time)

How Do I Get My Coach Certification? Coaches must either utilize coach training on AYSO.org OR attend a class. U6 and U8 can be completed online U10 (online and field portion) U12/U14/U19 (in person class/field) U14 is called Intermediate U16-U19 is called Advanced Coach

How do I find the classes? Regions all over the area will host the classes. The classes are found in eAYSO.org by clicking on “Sign up for a class”. Search our area which is: Section 8 and Area C. Referee classes are also found at eAYSO.org. There are currently 3 listed in eAYSO.org (Memphis, Warren and Sterling Heights)

Super Camp – Memphis, MI When: August 12th, 13th, 14th Where: Memphis Elementary School What Courses will offered: All of them (Coach and Referee) Cost: Free to our region

What is AYSO Extra? Involves U10 and U12 divisions/Boys and Girls For the child who wants a little more soccer at a higher level. They play on house and extra team. Player must play 50% of their house games to be eligible. Players tryout for the team The Extra team practices once a week and play 1 game on the weekend. Coach must be certified one level above division they are coaching. i.e. U12 – Coach would need to be certified as an intermediate coach Any one interested let us know!
