Buckling of Columns A designer should satisfy Strength requirements (Ultimate Strength, Plasticity) Deflection requirements (Serviceability) Stability requirements Fatigue and Fracture Strengths Durability conditions If specified conditions are exceeded the structure is assumed to have failed and should be repaired or condemned.
