The amount of the tax receipt is dependent on how much the ReStore is able to sell the item for. Receipts are not provided for used clothing under Canadian Revenue Agency rules. In-person Donation Drop-offs You can drop off your furniture & household items at 25 Connell Court, Unit 1, Toronto, ON . Items can be brought directly to your closest ReStore for an in-person donation (90 locations across Canada). You can donate gently used clothing and household goods to your local Salvation Army Thrift Store, or a drop bin near you. Larger, fragile and more valuable items should be dropped off to the store directly. Who Benefits from Donations All gently used furniture received will be transferred to our clients, who include individuals who were formerly homeless, women and children escaping abusive situations, as well as refugees and newcomers to Canada. The profit generated by ReStores are used to fund the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate that operates the store. The Salvation Army Thrift Stores support many programs and services provided by The Salvation Army, including food banks, shelters, children's camps, addiction treatment facilities and many other community programs.
