Situation – Circumstances, environment or culture. Automatic Thoughts – Subconscious belief about the situation Our Subconscious beliefs are developed by a combination of: Upbringing and Family Values Media and Cultural Input Personal Experience Education and Knowledge

Automatic Thoughts – Subconscious belief about the situation Emotional Reaction – Feelings and Assumptions Your Emotional Reaction Determines your Behaviors. Your Behaviors Determines your Results.

Situation – Circumstances, environment or culture. Automatic Thoughts – Subconscious belief about the situation Emotional Reaction – Feelings and Assumptions Behavior– The Actions we are moved to take, prompted by our feelings Results – Updated situation

Your Subconscious Mind Your Thoughts and Beliefs about your Situation or Environment will determine how you live your life, or react to Situations. What you have been taught, (if not closely examined) will be assumed and embraced automatically. What you believe about your self worth will determine your confidence and motivation. What you believe about the nature of man will determine how you treat others. When your life has been determined by others, you will assume it will always be determined by someone else.

Your Conscious Mind Your Thoughts and Beliefs about your Situation or Environment can be changed by choosing to think differently. Lies you have been taught, can be examined and rejected. You can decide to determine for yourself what you can become. You can choose to see the best in others. When you take full responsibility for your life and reject the idea that it has already been determined by others.

We all tell ourselves a story. If our story resonates with reality, we will find ourselves with less obstacles to overcome. Success will come to us when we have healthy thoughts. When our story does not resonate with reality, we will find ourselves fighting against natural laws that are unchangeable. Unhealthy thoughts will cause us to live a lie that someone(our environment) created for us. We will continue struggling with our emotions, behaviors and results, until we choose something else to believe.

Discussion Time: What are some questions you can ask yourself to align your thoughts with reality? How does stress play a part in our thinking? How can others assist you in being a better thinker? Is it better to try to control your emotions, or control your thoughts? Why?
