Learning Reflection Trent Arnold - ENG2DAP

Reflecting On Skills And Strategies Writing Reading Media Oral

Writing My writing improved significantly this year, and my blog showcases all of my work. From wind turbines to child vaccination, I have explored various topics and gained writing skills.

Examples of my Writing Are Wind Turbines Affecting Health? http://tarnold0281.commons.hwdsb.on.ca/2015/06/12/wind-turbines-affecting-health/ Child Vaccination - Do or Don’t? http://tarnold0281.commons.hwdsb.on.ca/2015/04/19/child-vaccination-do-or-dont/

Why do these Reflect my Growth? Wind Turbines: First Post Mainly Opinion Somewhat Messy Unorganized Child Vaccination: Blogger of the Week Loads of Facts Structured Cleaner Sentences

Before and After Writing Idea Support Research Citation Layout After: Re-read Spelling & Grammar Word Choice Awkward Sentences Any Extra Thoughts

Reading I improved my reading skills through reading The Fifth Rule in my literature circle.

Reading Strategies During: Make connections Write down interesting points Read with purpose Ask questions After: Answer my questions Consider realism Response Predictions

Media Through the examination of multiple Romeo and Juliet films, I have learned a few media skills.

What I learned about Media Literacy Camera angles make a huge difference Different directors can change the way a story is perceived Placement of characters is very important Background music easily changes mood There is a lot more going on behind the scenes than I thought

Oral I enhanced my oral communication skills through presentations and literature circle discussions

Media Strategies Before: Plan and Prepare Practice Check facts During: Speak clearly Listen to others Be meaningful After: Answer any questions Make sure no thoughts were unheard

Media skills improvement Make sure everyone is prepared Listen to others with full attention Plan for expected questions Have patience with some passionate arguments

Conclusion Grade 10 english is an important class, and the content learned will help me achieve goals in grade 11 and 12. I need to work on getting motivated to do certain tasks, even if they aren’t my favorite.
