ANM 20 Examples of student work for Project 2
Variations Project • Create a Layer Template as a tracing guide so you can duplicate your interior scene. The scene may come from a photo, magazine or book. Scan the image and paste it into the first (bottom) layer of your illustration. As a template it will be locked and dimmed so you can trace on layers above it. • Add as many layers as necessary to help you organize your drawing. It’s best to break down by major elements such as walls, windows, table etc. Think about your layer stacking order as you work from the back to the front of the scene. • Use the pen tool…consider how shapes will fill if they are open or closed. You will want to lock layers to control selections and frequently revert to the outline view to see how your composition is developing. Keep it simple…you don’t need to include too much detail. Do consider how light will affect the scene. • Once drawn, selectively color three versions of your drawing by using color palettes that are analogous, complimentary, triadic, or monochromatic.
