To become a certified orthopaedic surgeon 9-6-2012 6 years of training, 2 years general surgery, 4 years orthopaedic surgery Interim examinations No final examination Formal assessment with trainer C-paper, pay € 650 to Medical Specialist Registration Council (MSRC) 5 year certification with BIG registration To become a certified orthopaedic surgeon UEMS Stockholm
To stay a certified orthopaedic surgeon 9-6-2012 Recertification every 5 years 3 months prior to expiration, check form and a € 325 bill is sent First pay the bill, then fill out the form !!! 9-6-2012 At least once in past 5 years attend to “Quality Visitation”, in orthopaedics mandatory Visitation is peer to peer examination of all orthopaedic practices and clinics. This criteria has to be met on input, not on output, questions on specific education Quality Visitation is a unique system, possibly not in use in any other European country Criteria (3) UEMS Stockholm

9-6-2012 Individual Functioning of a Medical Specialist = Appraisal Health authority yearly checks hospital based, not individual, attention to one of the IFMS programs If not 100%, the hospital has to give the explanation New recertification program incorporates IFMS on individual base ???
