Book presentation Everyone has to do a book presentation in class. Here are some things you need to know!

Your presentation should… last at least 3 minutes have some kind of visual aid (Anschauungsmaterial) => box You will get a grade for your presentation (mündliche Note)

How to prepare and present your book presentation:

Step 1: Preparation Read your book Then look for information and material about your book (author, book awards, film etc.) newspapers and magazines the internet

Step 2: Structure Every presentation should have these parts: a) Introduction Try to get your classmates interested in your book! You can start with a picture, a cartoon, a video clip, a quotation, a joke, … Also explain the structure of your presentation (What you are going to do next!) b) Main Part Talk about the author of the book. Then talk about the story of the book (What is it about! What are the main characters? ….)

c) Conclusion Tell your classmates why you chose the book! Tell your classmates what was easy and what was hard during your preparation! Tell your classmates what you put in the box and why! Tell your classmates why you prepared the box the way you did!

Step 3: visual aids = box Use the box to illustrate your speech You can put in the box: pictures, photographs created figures any material that has something to do with your book

Step 4: Presentation Try to speak as naturally as possible Speak loudly and not too fast Keep eye contact with your audience You can use index cards, but don‘t just read them out loud Only use notes, not a complete text At the end, ask if anyone has a question If not, thank the audience for their attention
