SFNY’s Objective Deliver access to superfast broadband for approximately half of North Yorkshire (NGA capability) Maximise coverage with available funds

Before SFNY 2012 - Commercial coverage of NGA set to peak at 46% Over 40,000 premises <2mbps 12 community schemes supported prior to 2012

91% Coverage of NGA (June 2017) SFNY’s impact so far 91% Coverage of NGA (June 2017) One of the best VFM in the UK Take up will exceed 40% by end of 2016 Established alternative providers ‘Better Broadband’ scheme available

Demand for NGA is almost universal. There is no rural/urban split. What have we learned ? Demand for NGA is almost universal. There is no rural/urban split. Demand stimulation at community level is remarkably effective. The resentment of those not receiving NGA is not to be taken lightly.

What next? Phase 3 - £20.5m funding Competitive procurement underway. Reach as many of the remaining premises with NGA as possible The 220 largest communities have 10,000 premises with an average 40 homes, with most between 20 and 30 premises

Initial Tender issued September 2016 Phase 3 timeline Initial Tender issued September 2016 PQQ responses received October 2016 Full Tender November 2016 Award late Spring 2017 Completion circa 2019
