SC6 Work Group on VR Plugs Item 1: API 6A Annex L precludes the use of 15M-20M preps in 2M-10M outlets. Item 2: There is no 15M-20M prep for the 4-1/16” outlet. Item 3: Existing service tools may not be able to make up or break out the 4-1/16” 10M VR plug.

SC6 Work Group on VR Plugs Summary of WG Activities Allow the use of the HPVR preps in 2M-10M outlets. Develop a plug and prep for the 4-1/16” HPVR. Remove 4-1/16” VR preparation and plug dimensions from 2M-10M tables.

SC6 Work Group on VR Plugs Summary of WG Activities Refer to the preps and plugs as “VR” for 2M-10M. Refer to the preps and plugs as “HPVR” for 15M-20M. Add “ASME B1.8 Stub Acme Threads to Section 2 (Reference Standards). Remove 2nd sentence of 1st paragraph of 10.22.1 – ‘four sizes and 2 pressure ratings’.

SC6 Work Group on VR Plugs Summary of WG Activities Remove Section L.4 (duplicate of 10.22.4 - Materials). Remove Section L.5 ( duplicate of 10.22.6 – QC). Remove L.7 (duplicate of 10.22.7 – Marking). Remove L.8 (duplicate of 10.22.8 – Storing and Shipping).

SC6 Work Group on VR Plugs Plan Forward Confirm dimensions for 4-1/16” HPVR plug and prep. Complete the analysis of the 4-1/16” HPVR plug and prep. Prepare annex for ballot. Send annex and analysis (as supporting documentation) to API for ballot distribution.
