What types of Separation Pays? Separation pay eligibility and amounts are determined by the type of separation. Voluntary and Involuntary (ISP) Separation Program Designator (SPD)
Eligibility for Involuntary Separation Pay Finish first term of enlistment or obligated service At least six years of service Separating involuntarily Not yet eligible for retirement Not separating under adverse conditions
Disqualifiers Choosing not to re-enlist Leaving active duty during your initial term Eligible for retirement pay Court-martials Separating with an other than honorable (OTH) Unsatisfactory performances Misconduct
Levels Full Honorable discharge, must be full qualified for retention at time of retention (ERB and HYT) Half Honorable or general discharge (PFA Failures, security clearance, or Inability to create or have a Family Care plan)
