Course 3 : Studio Technology By Meenu Sharma Research Associate CEMCA

Introduction This module is first in line of the four modules that makes course II viz., “CR Production: System Technology” ; First 9 units of it discuss the basics of sound, its properties and components ; Unit 10 in this module explains digital audio signals ; Unit 11 module explain on the Audio Chain and Unit 12 deals with Studio Acoustics .

Module Objectives To discuss properties and components of sound To discuss the difference between analogue and digital audio To understand the hardware required for field recording and setting up a studio To discuss the fundamental principles and the care to be taken, while setting up an audio studio
