Air resistance is a form of friction that acts to slow down any object moving in the air. Air resistance is a force that gets larger as an object moves.

How a Range Drum with Panoramic Sight Works Set the distance from the gun to the target on the range drum. As you turn the drum to this setting, the sightmount with panoramic sight moves upward. This also gives you the number of propellant bag charges to use. You then load the howitzer with the projectile and bag charges before elevating the tube to agree with your range drum setting.

How a Range Drum with Panoramic Sight Works As you elevate the tube to agree with the range drum setting you look to the panoramic sight’s leveling bubble. Once it is level, you stop elevating the tube.

How a Range Drum with Panoramic Sight Works Panoramic Sight mirror to better view the leveling bubble Close up of the Range Drum Panoramic Sight (Through this Indirect Fire Sight, you only see your distant aiming point or range stakes, NOT your actual target.) Panoramic Sight Leveling Bubble Vile Columns of numbers on the range drum represent the range to target distance with different bag charge amounts
