Old (API State/AYP Federal) to New Moving from the old system of a single score designed to sanction/punish New model of multiple measures designed to measure growth and provide support where needed

Overview of the California Model The California Model uses percentiles to create a five-by-five grid (giving 25 results), which combines “Status” and “Change” to produce a “Performance Level” (represented by a color) for each state indicator. Both Status and Change are equally weighted.

Overview of the California Model (Cont.) Status is based on performance from the most current year. Change is the difference between performance from the prior year and current year.

State Performance Indicators Chronic Absenteeism (Not this year) Suspension Rate (2014-15 data is “current year”) English Learner Proficiency (CELDT growth and reclassification data) Graduation Rates College/Career Readiness (Not this year) English Language Arts Assessment Math Assessment
