How did we Get Invited? the Shepherd University Appalachian Writer in Residence and Heritage Events Summer Reading Assignments and visit with writer in residence introduction to rhetoric, analysis and argument through the lens of Appalachia and exploration of identity The culminating project: What would the ASA Conference want to hear from YOU?

Cincinnati: April 5-8 Depart school Thursday (5thth) We will present our panel either Friday (6thth) or Saturday (7thth). Students will be expected to attend other sessions and presentations on Friday and Saturday. Return on Sunday (April 8th)

Fees- You and your student are responsible: Conference Registration: $100 Meal Money: $20-$50 a day Friday Night banquet: $20.00 We are fundraising for… 3 nights in hotel- $175-$325 (per kid) Charter Bus (total $5,400) – About $180 per kid Whatever we don’t fundraise for becomes the responsibility of the student/parents.

Upcoming fundraisers… THIS MONDAY, December 4, 2017- Chipotle Online Jamberry Party…(TBA) ???? The conference is providing us with an honorarium check, but I don’t know the amount yet. I have applied for 3 grants I’m waiting to hear about. I would like the students to seek sponsors to list on t-shirts.
