CHAMPIONS OF GOVERNANCE (COG) AWARD OVERVIEW OF THE CHAMPIONS OF GOVERNANCE (COG) AWARD PRESENTED BY: CS. CALVIN NYACHOTI CHAIRMAN, COG AWARD TASKFORCE

ABOUT THE AWARD In year 2010, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) in partnership with other organizations, inaugurated an Award for excellence in governance, titled the “ICPSK Champions of Governance (COG) Award.”

ABOUT THE AWARD The inaugural Edition of the COG Award was a resounding success. The Institute held the 2nd, 3rd and 4th & 5th Editions of the COG Award in year 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. ICPSK is holding the 6th Edition of the Award this year.

ABOUT THE AWARD The Award is meant to recognize those organizations and individuals that exhibit the highest standards in the practice of good governance

Objectives of the Award The Award aims at promoting practices in good governance in the following ways: Recognition of practice and application of good governance in the both the public and private sector entities. Recognition of innovations in organizations that support good governance. Encouraging organizations to focus on enhancement of good governance.

COG Award Taskforce The COG Award Taskforce is responsible for the design and Implementation of the Award and comprises representatives from partnering institutions.

The Award Categories Agricultural Sector Award The Award will have the following categories and in each category there will be three awards: best in the category and first and second runners up:- Agricultural Sector Award Commercial and Services Sector Award Co-operative Sector Award Finance and Investment Sector Award Industrial and Allied Sector Award Insurance Sector Award
