Historical background •The national socialist movement (NSM) was founded in 1974 by Robert Brannen and Cliff Herrington. •They are a neo-fascist group with around 400 members. •They are on the far right side of the political spectrum. This group is classified as a hate group, but refer to themselves as a “white civil rights organization”

Magazine, local chapter bulletins Other activities: Literature distributions, conferences and rallies, Internet forums and blogs Ideology: Neo-Nazi; NSM calls for a “greater America” that would deny citizenship to Jews, non-whites, and homosexuals. Composition: Mostly young Affiliations: Ties with various Klan groups and other neo-Nazi organizations Significance: One of the most explicitly “Nazi-like” neo-Nazi groups, which emulates the Third Reich. It has a vaguely paramilitary structure, with military ranks for its members. This party is considered a splinter party.

Views On Abortion The NSM prohibits abortion except in the cases of rape, incest, race-mixing, and others

Views On Immigration The NSM promotes its virulently anti-Semitic and racist ideology at rallies throughout the country. Between 2009 and 2011, the group’s rallies have focused mainly on immigration.
