Presentation transcript:

The story… Jesus isolates himself to pray. A storm comes into sea. The disciples see a “ghost.” What is Jesus doing? “He meant to pass by them” (Mark 6:48). Exodus 34:1–6; 1 Kings 19:11 Matthew 14:27

If you want to walk by faith, you must get out of the boat. Matthew 14:28–29 What is your boat?

If you want to walk by faith, you must expect problems. “when he saw the wind” Everything in life is risky.

If you want to walk by faith, you must accept fear as the price for growth. “he was afraid” (Matthew 14:30). Don’t be a pew potato! Did Peter fail? Peter had an opportunity to grow because of his “failure.”

If you want to walk on water, then you must connect with God. Jesus is looking for people to get out of the boat. Why risk it? Because Jesus is on the water.
