Global Wind Belts Trade Winds Prevailing Westerly Polar Easterlies

Trade Winds Between the equator and 30 N & between the equator and 30 S Winds that sailors relied on for trade.

Prevailing Westerlies Between 30 & 60 N and between 30 & 60 S Play an important role in the weather of the United States.

Polar Easterlies Between 60 & 90 N and between 60 & 90 S. Affects weather changes in the United States.
