Darwin OR Lamarck? A population of scallops had no eyes. However, some scallops, through a mutation, had an area that could sense light and dark. This increased it’s chances of survival. After MANY generations, the entire population could sense light and dark. A man of small build wants his children to have a muscular build. He figures if he works out constantly and his muscles develop, then his children will inherit this muscular build.

Darwin vs. Lamarck Snakes evolved from lizards that began burrowing into the ground to get away from predators How would Darwin explain how snakes evolved? How would Lamarck explain this?
