Purpose of Honor Code An honor code or honor system is a set of rules or ethical principles governing a community based on ideals that define what constitutes honorable behavior within that community. The use of an honor code depends on the notion that people (at least within the community) can be trusted to act honorably. ~From Wikipedia

HONOR CODE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT As a student of Steamboat Springs High School, I understand that I will be expected to refrain from all acts of cheating, plagiarism and lying. I fully understand that if accused of such acts, I will be required to appear before the Honor Council and may be subject to disciplinary action.

Personal Honor Code: Look at the examples I provided. Consider what are the most important “rules or ethical principles” that govern your community (aka you). Write a one or two sentence honor code for you to live by for the next few weeks. Write two copies of the code. One for you and one for me.
