APPLICANTS MUST Attain the minimum entry requirements for the course applied for For students who meet the above Criteria , CIT will select the successful candidates based on: Application Form; School Reference; Personal Statement .

Personal Statement Point 1 The reason why you wish to go to CIT Why CIT? What do you know about CIT that attracts you? What progression routes are there? Is it the clubs/societies/facilities/friendly lecturers? The way the year is broken into semester? Give this some thought Look at CIT website and handbook

Personal Statement Point 2 Your reasons for choosing the course/s listed on CAO form Why this course/s? What is it about the course you think you will like? Have you a flair for certain subjects that are related to the course? Do you know what job prospects there are after graduation

Personal Statement Point 3 Your personal strengths and experiences which you believe will help you to enjoy and succeed in your chosen course in CIT Are you motivated? Are you committed? Do you enjoy a challenge? Do you like to try new things?

Personal Statement Point 4 Details of part time work , placement or voluntarily work, especially if it is relevant to your choice of course Do you have a part time job? Do you work a few hours volunteering in the local club, charity shop, helping out neighbours? What work experience have you done during school?

Personal Statement Point 5 Social , sporting and other interests and activities What are you hobbies? Do you take part in a regular activity (team or individual) Do you play music? Do you go to youth club? Have you taken part in school activities/competitions?

Personal Statement Point 6 Any further information that would support this application Were you a mentor/prefect/buddy in school? Did you win a student achievement award? Did you take part in the Gaisce challenge? Do you have any other achievement/certificate e.g. ECDL…….
