Alps During the course of this lesson I will be giving you all your ALPS grades, these are predictions based on your gcse results. They are made by seeing what other students who got your grades at GCSE went on to get at A level. Each time you do an assessment we will be comparing your results to your ALPS grade.

Task 1 : Read the cards carefully Task 2: Decide which two Social influence studies the cards are about. Task 3: Colour code them 1 for each study and add a key Stretch and challenge : There is a card which applies to both studies, which is it and why?

A little note on validity You will have noticed and used the term validity before but what exactly is it? Essentially its to do with the truthfulness of the results. Will they apply in other settings? With other participants? At another time?

The Milgram experiment Using your notes from last week and today’s handout create your own 8 key points boxes for the Milgram experiment. You should include information on: Procedure (how it was done) Aims (why it was done) Findings (What Milgram got from the study) Criticisms (Ethical issues, validity, sample) Variations/repetitions

This is the question you will be answering in exam conditions next week.

Lets have a look at the mark scheme https://srosocialscience.wordpress.com/2015/09/24/sample-mark- scheme-for-social-influence/

Homework Prepare for you assessed question. You will not be allowed to use your notes
