Some High Points What purpose is there is telling all of the details of party prep? Significance of guests who “conducted themselves according to the rules of behavior associated with an amusement park” (41)? What do the existence of the rumors about Gatsby reveal about his interactions with the community? Page 48- the description of Gatsby’s smile; how does it elevate him? How is Jordan’s description of large parties being intimate paradoxical? What is learned about Jordan and her golf career? How does Nick feel about dishonest women (58)? What is the “tangle back home” Nick is involved in? Does Nick uphold the cardinal rule of honesty that he believes he possesses? How are the ideals of the Lost Generation represented in the chapter?

The Neverending party Go back to chapter two and find all the details/descriptions of Tom’s party. Do the same for Gatsby’s. This would be perfect for a chart of some sort…. Are the parties similar in anyway? What does each reveal about the host? Compare with the movie version.
