Smoke PITs How to locate, mark the location of a facility’s smoke pit(s), and download into GeoBase

Zoom In & Find the facility Locate the facility using the provided Google Map. Zoom In & Find the facility
“Right Mouse Click” on the location of the smoke pit. Adjust the position of the marker if necessary by “left mouse click hold” and dragging the point to where you want it. Type in the numeric facility number for your building. Click the “Save” button. Mark the Smoke Pit
Confirmation & Corrections When the marker turns RED, the smoke pit has been saved. If you made a mistake, click the “Delete” button and mark the smoke pit using the same method as before. Confirmation & Corrections

Copy & Paste Points Select all point by using the CTRL+A buttons Copy the points using CTRL+C Using your “Start” button, go to Accessories and launch Notepad. Paste the points using CTRL+V Go to File -> Save As and name your file points.csv Copy & Paste Points
Launch ArcMap Plotting the Points
Import & Plot Points Under “Layers”, select “Add Data”. Locate/select your CSV file. Once loaded, highlight the table and right click on it. Select “Display XY Data”. The dialogue box to the right shows the correct settings you should use for X, Y and Coordinate System. Click “OK” to continue. Click “OK” again the warning box. Import & Plot Points
