Senior Project

The Senior Project will have two components: a narrative component and a research component. Both components will be presented to the class. The theme of the Senior Project is “Who am I?” and both components will explicitly or implicitly answer this question to a certain degree. Senior Project

Narrate a transformative event or moment from your public educational experience. How did the event or moment affect who you were and what you became? Did it alter your perspective? Did you learn something insightful about yourself and/or others? Did you fall in love with a new hobby or area of interest? Etc. This transformative event could be deeply personal or less personal – share what you are comfortable with sharing. You may change the names to protect the innocent. Embellishments are fine, especially imagery and other figurative language, to illustrate the impact of the moment or event. Essentially you are creating a powerful implicit argument about who you were and who you are now: this does not need to be explicit necessarily. Graded on: 1. Presentation. 2. Effectiveness of the narrative. The Narrative

Research and present a specific career, field, or college major to the class. If it’s a career or career field, how does one get from here (high school) to there? (i.e. What college or educational program is needed?) If it’s a major, what careers are available to that major? Salary? Quality of life (salary versus the specific cost of living in at least three other states)? Weigh the pros and cons. ( At least three each.) What might change about the career, career field, and/or major in the next 5-10 years? 10-20 years? 20-50 years? Must include a works cited (MLA). Graded on: 1. Presentation. 2. Effectiveness of the research. The Research
