Communication and Planners Planners must be signed each week and daily for reading. Pop in and see us any time or catch us at the line. Write in the children’s planner any notes or send us an email. Communication is the backbone of the partnership between school and home. The most important thing you can take away from tonight is to stay in touch. Anything you are not sure of, anything questions you have – if you thought something in school was fantastic or really helped your child, or if there’s anything you’re not happy with – please let us know. We are dedicated to your children and will do our absolute best to give them a happy and productive experience in Year 1, but we will always look to do things better. And we won’t always get it exactly right. But we guarantee that if anything isn’t right, we will listen to you and do everything we can do improve. There are a number of ways we will stay in touch. You can email us and we will get back to you. We do get a lot of emails and obviously are with the children the vast majority of the day, so the school’s guideline is that you will get a response within 48 hours during the week, or on the next day back at school if you contact us after school on Thursday or before holidays. Drop-off and pick-up are great times to have a quick chat, but you can also set up a meeting with your class teacher if you need more time. We will invite parents into school during the day, at various points in the year, to see what the children have been doing. We will give details of these in advance. Finally, we have parents’ evenings in Term 1 & 2, with 10-minute slots for all parents to check in. Mission: Providing the best teachers, leadership and support in a not-for-profit environment, we nurture a genuine passion for learning.
