Crestfallen Part of Speech: adjective Definition: to feel discouraged and disappointed. Synonyms: discouraged, disheartened, disappointed Antonyms: cheerful, encouraged Sentence: The father yelled at the boy who tried to help with the nail gun, and the boy slumped down, crestfallen.

Assignment Draw the word “crestfallen” as if the word or letters were falling down.

Appraise Part of Speech: verb Definition: to determine the worth or quality of Synonyms: look over, assess, evaluate Antonyms: ignore, neglect Sentence: I appraised the girl’s earrings, studying their length, color, and texture.

Assignment Describe an object that you frequently appraise. Describe a time you saw this object, and use the word.
