Cornell Notes Overview System that involves reviewing, interacting, and summarizing your notes. There are three important steps: Notes about the topic can be underlined, highlighted, or circled Connections to notes through questions, reactions, key vocabulary, and significance. Summarizing reading, lecture, or media information.

Levels of Questions: There are three levels of Questions (level 2 and 3 are where you need to start writing at). Level One Questions are more limited and rely on recalling info. What is the Third Estate? List technology used in WWII? If you were a member of the Progressive Party in 1912, what would be your three most important issues of concern?

Levels of Questions: Level 2 questions require you to think more. You need to use application and analysis. Words such as: why, purpose, or reasons let the teacher know you are thinking at this level. Compare and contrast the French Revolution to the American Revolution? Construct a map illustrating patterns of movement from rural areas to cities. Compare the difference between the Progressive Party Platform and the Republican Party Platform in 1912.

Levels of Questions: Level 3 questions really push your thinking. You need to use synthesis and evaluation Words such as: Imagine, predict, assess, and critique are a key give away to teacher that you are in that zone. Assess the importance of the land in the Alsace-Loraine Region to both France and Germany. Predict what may have occurred if the Allies had lost the D- Day Battle.
