Class Discussion Boards English VII & VIII Jay Melton
First, go to your class’ Discussion Boards site Check your syllabus or look at it on the class homepage. Start up your computer and log in. Start Internet Explorer or Netscape. Type in the URL (address) of your class’ Discussion Board page. When the page comes up, put it in your “Favorites” or “Bookmarks.” Use that Favorite or Bookmark each time.
Joining the Discussion Boards Five Steps: Use mouse to click on “Register” Use mouse to “I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age” Fill in information (Username, email address, password [twice], & Signature) Use mouse to click on “Submit” Wait to be accepted (it may take a few minutes)

Fill in information
Fill in your name, email address, & password Your name must be in romaji (use the order you like) Use your school email address (no keitai addresses) Type your password twice (type it carefully both times) Please remember your password! (always use hankakuji, NOT zenkakuji).
Write your name here… Type your name again here (in romaji). Doing this means you won’t have to sign your name for every message. You can also write a few words if you want. You can always change this later if you want! (always use hankakuji, NOT zenkakuji).
Click on the “Submit” button to finish.
There’s no need to make other changes After submitting your registration, wait until you are made a member. This may take a few minutes. You should check your email for a message. When you get an answer, you may log in. Look around the boards, and read some of the information already there.
After you are registered, … Use your mouse and click on “Log in.” At the next screen, enter your name and password EXACTLY as you did when you logged in (always use hankakuji, NOT zenkakuji). Click the “Log in” button to enter.
You will now see all the boards!

That’s all you need to get started Click around and read some messages. We will examine some of the features of the discussion boards as the semester continues. You can ask questions (on the boards, in email, or in class) anytime. It’s most important that you read and write lots of English. You should also approach this with a positive attitude! Please have fun with the boards :-)
