Installing A Text Editor For Windows: Go to Notepad-plus-plus.org Download Version 7.5.4 Follow the instructions of the installer For Mac: Go to barebones.com Download Version 12.0.2 (don’t click buy) Drag package to Applications folder Choose continue, with the plan to use the free version
Checking Your Installations Start Notepad++ or BBEdit Create a new file Add some content Save the file

Piano Keyboard Introduction Lower frequency = lower pitch = left side of keyboard Higher frequency = higher pitch = right side of keyboard White keys are letter names in order A ‘real’ piano starts with “A” Our keyboards start with “C” Middle “C” A ‘real’ piano, the “C” under manufacturer name Our lab keyboards – not absolute When using default keyboard sound, it’s the 3rd “C” from the left.
