Occupational Health Service In multidisciplinary occupational medicine teams in Prison Service are involved: physician, nurse, psychologist. They all are specialized in occupational medicine
Superordinate Occupational Medicine Unit is situated in Central Board of Prison Service. In this unit are employed: physician, nurse, psychologist specialized in occupational medicine and additionally health major advisor and industrial safety inspector. Occupational Health Service
Occupational medicine employees are mainly civilians 70 of them are taking care of officers and employees.
Occupational Health Service Aims of occupational medicine in polish Prison Service are as follows: save physical and mental health officers and employees, define adverse environmental conditions of service and risk factors, provide health care for officers and employees.
Occupational Health Service Basic tasks are described in the Act on the Prison Service, particular - in Minister's of Justice decree.
Occupational Health Service Occupational health services tasks are, in particular:
Occupational Health Service 1) watching over health of the officers and employees through the preventive examinations: initial, periodic, and others ordered by their superiors;
Occupational Health Service 2) verify the initial test, including psychological testing, suitability of the candidate for the job, especially in the challenging position of being in constant contact with persons deprived of their liberty;
Occupational Health Service 3) organize and implement health promotion and disease prevention;
Occupational Health Service 4) cooperate with the heads of other organizationalunits of the Prison Service in the process of recognition and minimizing harmful risk factorsand their impact on officers and employees health;
Occupational Health Service 5) providing them safe and hygienic conditions of service and work.
Occupational Health Service Prison Service Occupational Health Unit cooperates with health boards, situated in The Ministry of Internal Affairs through the exchange of health information about officers, especially for diseases that may be related to the environmental hazard of the service or the method of its performance, providing documentation and research and consulting.
