The FS Labour market

How many people are employed by the FS sector in the UK? a. 500,000+ b. 1+ million c. 2+ million d. 3+ million   c. 2.2million 7.3% of the total working population contributing almost 11% or £176 billion to the total UK economy

How many of these are employed in London? a. 100% b. 75-85% c. 50-60% d. 30-40% d. Two thirds are employed outside! 751k are employed in London. There are over 21 towns and cities with more than 10,000 employed, in fact 470 out of 632 parliamentary constituencies employ 1,000 or more…

Out of the 2.2million how many are in banking? a. 2 million+ b. 1 million+ c. 500,000+ d. 400,000+ d. 421,000, this indicates the breadth of diversity of professions across the sector  

How many Apprenticeship standards are currently set up for Financial Services? a. 75-100+ b. 55-75 c. 35-55 d. 15-35 d. Just 28. Note there are 18 in Digital Skills a sector that didn’t exist 10 years ago!  

What is the size of the FS Apprenticeship levy? £250 million+ £200 million £150 million £100 million a. £272 million will go to HMT from 1000 firms
