Key Takeaways – Regulatory Engagement Survey results were very polarized – most of the firms either actively engaged regulators or did not engage until it was necessary to move the project forward. Majority of firms do not have interest in proactively engaging with regulatory stakeholders. Many firms do not have a regulatory engagement “play book”, thus there are inconsistencies in engagement approach between projects.
Live Polling For the following questions/scenarios, please assume that regulator involvement is focused on historic/current environmental impairment of the property (concentrations greater than human health or ecological standards). Currently the property is not part of any regulatory program, but the regulators are aware of chemical concentrations and will be monitoring remediation and redevelopment.
