Content Changes

New Introduction and “Your Journey to Wellness” Our new introduction welcomes patients to the program and explains what Club Reduce is all about. “Your Journey to Wellness” provides a basic introduction to the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle.

A New Section Explaining Nutrition and Neuropathy In this section, we explain: ∙ What neuropathy is. ∙ How neuropathy and nutrition are interrelated. ∙ The importance of eating to reduce inflammation and maximize nutrient intake.

A Section on Maximizing Your Nutritional Intake In this section, we explain: ∙ Which foods will facilitate vs. interfere with the healing process. ∙ The importance of supplementation. ∙ Why it’s important to eat organic, choose raw/fresh options, eat high- quality animal products, juice vegetables, and learn to soak or sprout nuts/seeds/legumes.

A Section on Detoxification In this section, we explain: ∙ How detoxification facilitates your body’s natural healing abilities. ∙ Why our detoxification system is better than the rest. ∙ What the experience will be like.

A Section on Structuring Your Program In this section, we explain how much patients should eat from each food group. We also provide useful tips for planning and preparing healthy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

Program Manual Resources and External Resources On page 47, we provide a list of the resources contained in this manual (recipes, example menus, daily checklists, etc.). On page 168, we provide a list of helpful external resources that patients can use to find organic produce, high quality animal products, oils, nuts, sea salt, and spices.

Dietary Changes

Longer Introductory Diet The introductory diet will now last 30 days rather than 20. Dr. Singleton wants to ensure that patients have time to heal more fully during this initial phase.

Much More Specific Guidelines For Days 30 and Beyond The second phase of the diet allows nuts and seeds, certain grains and legumes, and more options for meat (all fish and poultry).

Starchy Vegetables We now allow up to 1 cup of starchy vegetables (sweet potatoes, squash, etc.) on a daily basis. This serving should be consumed with high water content vegetables (leafy greens, cucumber, radishes, celery, carrots, etc.).

Eggs and Omega-3 Rich Fish We added eggs and omega-3 rich fish to the introductory diet. The omega-3 fatty acids will help patients heal faster.

Grapeseed Oil We took this one off the “approved” list. We’ve decided that it’s too high in inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids for some of our patients (it has an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 696:1).

Fruit and Vegetable Lists It’s important to note that the fruit and vegetable lists are not all-inclusive. There are many fruits and vegetables that are not on our list but that are okay for patients to eat.

Natural Sweeteners Certain sweeteners are now allowed. Moderate amounts of these sweeteners can play a role in a healthy diet (pure maple syrup, raw honey, stevia, the Solutions4 Fiber Sweetener).

Yeast and Fungus Foods The old program mentions “hard cheese made from mold” on the list of foods to avoid. Though cheese should be avoided anyway, it’s not because of the mold. The diet itself isn’t changing here, but the explanation is.

Yeast and Fungus Foods Many fermented foods are actually excellent for patients on neuropathy programs! We recommend probiotic foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, and coconut kefir.

Supplement Changes

What We Added 1 Probiotic Blend 1 Vitamin B12 4 Salmon Oil 2 Cardio Health Essentials

What We Cut Out 1 Flax Seed Oil 1 Body Purifier 2 Intestinal Cleansers We also removed the Detox Kit so that the products would be sold individually.

Why Make These Changes? We wanted to make sure that our older patients were getting enough probiotics, B vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids. We also wanted them to use the new Cardio Health Essentials to boost circulation. To provide all of this at a similar price point, we cut down on a few detox supplements. The Salmon Oil just replaces the Flax Seed Oil (to provide more omega-3 per serving). We also pulled the products out of the detox kit to reduce confusion.

Changed Dosages We simplified some dosages to make them more consistent throughout the program. This ensures that most products last the full length of the program. For example, the Probiotic Blend is now taken once in the morning and once at noon. In the old manual, it was taken 2 am/2 pm for the first 20 days, and then not at all.
