Learning Targets I can login to the Performance Matters Platform I can administer the RCK12 Benchmarks within the Unify Platform Say: By the end of today’s session we would like to ensure that you are able to meet the following learning targets. I can login to the Unify Platform. I an administer the RCK12 Benchmarks within the Unify Platform.

2017-2018 RCK12 Benchmark Assessment Schedule ELA & Math Say: The RCSS has developed content specific benchmarks to support teachers with monitoring student progress throughout the school year. Phase 1 will begin during the 2017-2018 academic school year and will be administered at the end of each nine week grading period. It is a district expectation that all ELA and Math teachers in grades 3-5 administer the RCK12 Benchmark Assessment utilizing the online Unify platform (OLA). Each Benchmark Assessment will include 15-20 questions based on the focus and priority standards that have been identified in the RCK12 curriculum. The chart identifies the Benchmark Testing Schedule for ELA & Math for grades 3-5. Science and Social Studies Benchmarks will be administered during the 2018-2019 school year for grade 5. Mathematics: Grades 1 – 5 Reading: Grades 3 – 5 Science and Social Studies: 2018-19 SY

What’s in the Blueprint? SAY: So, what’s in the Benchmark Blueprints?! Here, you will find a copy of the Benchmark dates along with associated standards addressed on each benchmark. The Table of Specification goes more in-depth to display the types of questions, the standards, and the Depth of Knowledge per question. Please pay special attention to the Constructed Response questions – if Performance Matters indicates the problem is Text Entry, the program will grade the solution exactly as it is written. For example if Performance Matters expects to see a solution of 6, the program will mark the answer INCORRECT if the student spells out the word six or provides a unit such as 6 “feet.” If Performance Matters indicates the problem is Extended Text, the program requires the teacher to manually grade the question based on a rubric provided within the program.

2017-2018 RCK12 Benchmark Assessment Schedule ELA & Math SAY: So, where can we find the Mathematics RCK12 Benchmark Blueprints?! **Describe all of these locations on slide…..** SAY: Before you leave this session today, if you teach grades 6 through 9, you will receive a grade level specific printed copies of the Number Talks Guide and the Fluency Support Guide. Grades 10-12….all of these valuable resources are available through the Resources link in Rubicon!

Initial Login Procedures Step 1: Login https://unify.performanc ematters.com/. Step 2: Say: Let‘s get started! Now we would like to walk you through the platform so that you can complete the initial login process and then we are going to provide you with time to practice. Step 1: You will login using the URL listed on the screen. Step 2: Click the customer login button.

Initial Login Procedures Step 3: Step 4: You will receive an email with instructions for setting your password. Say: Step 3: Instead of entering your credentials, Click the NEED NEW PASSWORD LINK. Step 4: On the next screen enter your email address that is associated with your Unify account. This is your RCBOE email address. You will receive an email with instructions for setting your temporary password. Login using the temporary password and reset using your RCBOE email password.

Activity #1: Login Tasks: 1.Login to the Unify Platform https://unify.performance matters.com/. *You will receive an email with instructions for setting your password. 2. Navigate the homepage. What are the features? Say: Read the directions for the task. Allow participants time to login. Circulate the room to provide support as needed. Now turn and talk with an elbow partner. Share the types of features that are visible on the homepage.

Locating RCK12 Benchmarks SAY: Now we would like to walk you through the platform so that you can locate the RCK12 Benchmarks and then we are going to provide you with time to practice. To locate the RCK12 Benchmarks you will need to select the “TESTS” dropdown menu and select “TEST CENTER.” (Click) You have a few different tools available to help you locate the RCK12 Benchmark Assessments. (Click 3 times) You will only be able to see the courses that you are assigned to teach based on the information in infinite campus. Select Course Subject, Assessment Category, or the Test Grade Level from the dropdown menus provided. (Reference the arrows on the screen.) Deselect the checkbox for “Limit to open test window” to view test not currently scheduled for administration. (Click) You can begin typing in the search box to find a test by name or ID number. (Click)

Activity #2: Administering the Online RCK12 Benchmark Task: Locate the following SAMPLE assessment. Course Subject- Language Arts Test ID – 243465 Test Title – October 6 District Wide Professional Learning Say: Now that you have had a chance to watch me demonstrate how to login and navigate the page, please take moment to locate a sample assessment. This is a sample assessment that has been created for demonstration purposes only. Use the information that is provided on the screen to locate the sample assessment.

Activity #2: Administering the Online RCK12 Benchmark Step 1: Click the Select dropdown menu. Say: Before we proceed, please make sure that our screen is identical. Now lets complete this step together. Click the select dropdown menu.

Step 3: Deselect the box Say: You will notice that the box next to each student’s name has been selected. We would like to demonstrate 2 different ways to assign tests. Step 3: Deselect the box. Review the displayed student roster. Select the box next to each student that will be administered the test.

Say: Or, you may select the All Classes dropdown menu and select a specific class.

Say: Once the students have been selected, you will then click on the RELEASE button. This will allow the students to be able to take the benchmark assessment.
