Welcome! February 23rd, 2018 Friday Do Now Get out your weekly Bell Ringer sheet and begin working on Friday’s assignment. Once the bell rings, you will have five minutes to find and label the examples of figurative language. Remember: Do Now's are INDEPENDENT and QUIET exercises. Thank you 

© Presto Plans Read the paragraph below and find examples of metaphor, simile, onomatopoeia, personification, oxymoron and/or alliteration. When Rick broke the bad news, my world started spinning around. It felt as if he had stabbed me in the back. He turned towards the table, took his keys and wallet, and said, “Have a good life.” The angry door banged shut. Any love I had for him walked out with him when he left. Months later, I saw him in a coffee shop. I attempted to appear invisible, so he wouldn’t come over to talk to me, but I was unsuccessful. When they came face to face, an awkward silence crept up between us. I waited for an apology, but like a heartless monster, he pretended as if nothing happened.
