Primary Recommendations Authorize GM of RBOC to submit written guarantee to LA24 to have Rose Bowl be considered for up to 7 Olympic events Authorize Mayor to submit a letter to the IOC in order to express the city’s commitment to work with the City of LA in an effort to bring the Olympics Authorize City and RBOC to work together on Venue Use Agreement that would be required, subject to approval of RBOC/Council

Guarantee letter highlights Exclusive use period (July 5- August 8) Non-exclusive use period beginning June 15 Olympics pays all expenses, assumes liability and will make a minimum of a $2 million capital improvement in stadium that must be mutually agreed upon Capital Improvements expected to be determined as part of Venue Use Agreement

Mayor’s letter highlights City guarantees: Will not authorize additional events in Pasadena that would overtax its public safety and welfare resources Any improvements constructed as a result of the games will comply w/all laws City will work with IOC, Dept of Homeland security and OCOG ensure a safe celebration of the games

Displacement events 2024 Current tentative schedule Contractually required events (10-11) 6/7 UCLA 1 Rose Bowl Game 3 Music & Arts Festival (assuming contract option is exercised) Olympics (up to 7 total) SUBTOTAL (17-18) Council could be asked to make findings for additional events 1 July 4 1 Autism walk 2 Concert and/or soccer

Findings Needed to be made Additional event represents a unique opportunity that will enhance stature of Rose Bowl Revenue generating potential from the additional events justifies its consideration It is anticipated that this event will not create undue conflicts with Arroyo Seco activities Event does not impose undue adverse impacts on the surrounding area
