Summer Bridge 2017 Summer Pilot Program College High School

Summer Bridge Summary Goal: A four week program to increase college readiness, persistence, retention, and graduation rates of first-time, full-time, first-generation students. Offer students access and information about different resources they can utilize through their time in college. Introduce scholars to the structure and rigor of college while fostering meaningful academic and social connections. Summer Bridge Summary

Hermiston BMCC Objectives Navigate the rigor and demands of college Attend to their individual intellectual, psychological, and physical well-being Provide resources and connections to enhance their academic journey Begin fall term prepared to navigate the college environment

Historically Underrepresented Cohort Information First Time Low Income Historically Underrepresented HB 3063 target group First-generation students Entering college in the fall (first- time student) Have earned at least 12 college credits in high school Will be full-time BMCC students HB 3063 Cohort

TMCC Site Visit Takeaways Offer supplemental instruction for all students with tutors Provide everything (lunch, transportation, books, tuition) Structured for first time, low income and historically underrepresented Accept multiple assessments for placement
