Meet Ms. Santosh This is my 3rd year teaching 1st year – Abu Dhabi 2nd year - Kent Abu Dhabi New Jersey Boston A.D Seattle Parents (Abu Dhabi), sister (California) In my spare time I like to read, oil paint, hike (& watch Disney movies, of course!)

Reading/Literacy The biggest change from 2nd grade to 3rd grade is the transition from oral answers to showing responses in writing. This year we will be using Mondo Bookshop Curriculum Whole Group, Guided Reading, Word Study Literacy Centers
Writing Being a Writer Handwriting Narrative, Informational, Persuasive Spelling Grammar Handwriting Zaner-Bloser Curriculum
Math Units of Learning Math Groups Math Centers Multiplication and Division 0-10 Measurement, Time, and Graphs Multi-digit Addition and Subtraction Geometry (Polygons, Perimeter, and Area) Exploring Fractions Math Groups Math Centers Students will be expected to know all of their math facts by the end of 3rd grade!
Science This year, science will focus on four main areas: Environment and Living Things Life Cycles and Traits Forces and Motions Weather and Climate
Social Studies NW Coastal Native Americans Cultures in our Community Geography of Regions and States
Homework Homework packets will be sent home on Monday and will be due the following Monday. Other homework may include: studying spelling words, research for writing, or project work. Reading at least 20 minutes a night
Online student portfolio Students and I can “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, and text Immediate visual updates when students post work Not used for messaging
