First read the assignment [ A few times!] Second chose a company /organisation in line with the assignment brief Describe the external environment /sector of your company -PESTLE - Opportunities –Threats What does your company produce – goods –services

Check list for T&D Assignment Strategic/marketing plan /products/price/place [distribution ]/ production etc. Who are the key internal /external stakeholders ? Owners ? Add an Organisational chart –highlight HRM Internal strengths /weakness –relate to HR/OB issues [From previous module learning] Now you are ready to answer your assignment questions

Questions Who receives training ? Managers - other staff- all employees ? What is the training for ? KSAs? Knowledge [remember the 3 types?] ? How often is training given e.g. at induction[on boarding] /on promotion / on going[succession planning]? What are the training mode/ methods/techniques ? e.g. On the job-off the job – ‘Traditional’ - ‘Electronic’

Questions to consider Remember Training Process Model ? ADDIE ? How is the training managed ? Cost/benefits etc. What do the employees think of the training ? Are they satisfied ? Motivated - Engaged Productive etc How is training evaluated ? Are there clear links to the strategy of the organisation ?
