Rad T 275 Urinary system
IVP or IVU This is a timed exam. The intent is to determine the function of the kidneys. A series of exposures will be made from 1 to 20 minutes. 30 degree obliques may be done at 5 – 10 minutes post injection. Most early films, before 10 minutes, will be cone downs. 15 minute film maybe prone

Retrograde urography Catheterization followed by direct contrast injection Excellent visualization of the ureters No kidney function
Cystography Small films AP, bilateral obliques (40-60 degrees), lateral For voiding exams rotate the patient 35-40 degrees
