Evaluation weights for 2015-16 Peter Shulman Assistant Commissioner and Chief Talent Officer August 5, 2015

Evaluation Weight Requirements and Progression The Department is required to announce the weights for each component of evaluation for teachers and principals/APs/VPs by August 31 each year. In response to significant educator feedback, and acknowledging the transition from NJ ASK to PARCC last year, the Department reduced the weight of the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) component for all educators to 10% in 2014-15. Building on our commitment to a thoughtful, deliberate process of continuous improvement, 2015-16 weights will remain consistent with those in 2014-15. This will allow the state and local districts the ability to make more meaningful judgments about trends in the data over time.
